Off the Clock

Most people know me through workflows, projects, and automation.

But if you happened to visit on a Saturday morning, you'd probably find a very different version of me.

One weekend, I'm in the garage tuning my motorcycle, determined to fix something I probably could have paid someone else to fix. The next, I'm surrounded by yarn and fabric, crocheting tiny jackets for my dogs, knitting myself a new sweater, or convincing a piece of cloth that it was always meant to become a dress.

I like making things.

Not because I need them, but because there's something magical about taking an idea that only exists in your head and slowly bringing it into the real world.

Of course, not every day is productive.

Sometimes my greatest accomplishment is staying in bed with my dogs, watching an entire season of a show and pretending I have no responsibilities waiting for me.

Other days, I wake up full of energy and somehow manage to swim, lift weights, and play tennis all in the same day. Those days usually end with me questioning my own life choices.

When boredom strikes, I do what any perfectly normal person would do: I open ChatGPT and start discussing outrageous ideas, impossible inventions, or hypothetical scenarios nobody asked for.

The fastest way to get my attention isn't through compliments. It's through curiosity... or laughter.

Teach me something new, challenge my perspective, or make me laugh so hard I forget what we were talking about. I love thoughtful conversations, friendly debates, and people who aren't afraid to share their wild ideas. Fair warning though: while I'm usually laughing on the inside, my face doesn't always get the memo.

Teach me something new. Challenge what I think. Share a strange theory, an unpopular opinion, or an idea that's been living rent-free in your head. I love conversations that leave both people walking away with a different perspective than when they started.

I travel the same way I learn.

I've wandered through Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Australia, Vietnam, and Indonesia, but I'm rarely interested in collecting landmarks or checking destinations off a list.

I'd rather sit where the locals sit, eat where they eat, and experience the quiet, ordinary moments that reveal the true character of a place.

Because that's where life happens.

And no matter how far I travel, how many places I visit, or how many ideas I chase, there's always something waiting for me at home.

My furbabies.

They don't care about my projects, achievements, deadlines, or future plans.

They don't even judge me when I've gone a little too long without a proper self-care day.

They simply wait by the door with the same excitement as if I've been gone for years.

A wagging tail. A familiar face. A reminder that love can be wonderfully uncomplicated.

And somehow, that's all I need to catch my breath, recharge, and keep moving forward.
